I know what you mean. Not sure how big a part the whispers will be but they are certainly interesting.
i always thought the whispers were insulting the 'losties' or something lol.. never thought of people talking to each other!
How in the world is anybody getting a transcript of this? I never hear anything but psspspspsps,.
There's tons of software out there that allows you to slow things down, break the audio in to parts by channel etc. For instance, when Eko faces off with Smokey, what sounds like a rumbling noise, when sped up gives you the voices transcribed below.
I think the whispers are a combination of two things:
1) People observing what's going on in some sort of Pearl Station-like setup or out in the jungle.
2) One of the DHARMA projects has to do with using the mind to see/hear things that are located elsewhere (remote viewing). For instance, in the Ana/Eko transcript, someone says "I'm in someone's dream" and "I can see eye to eye", that's what that's about, I think.
I think there's also a kind of island-wide PA system. For instance, in LT, DA when Jack, Kate, Sawyer and Hurley get ambushed (thanks Michael!), you can clearly hear voices saying "Elizabeth".

you cant make ANY of the whispers out.. and they are meaningless...
they add no value to the plot. they are just random whispers.
no one can prove that these transcripts are really what are being same.

Go visit the fuselage site if you want to read up on these experts. They have over 50 pages of stuff there.
all i am saying is.. when i watch a scene, i dont hear that in the whispers.
the real nail in the coffin AGAINST these "whispers" is the Sayid/Henry scene
I have watched that scene.. hmm,. maybe 100 times now.. when he is asking henry about the balloon.
i do NOT hear ANY whispers at ALL . i have watched it several times, very very carefully, on very high volume.. NOTHING.

i cant hear or make out any of the words.

like one of the writers said "you hear what you are supposed to hear"
meaning... dont go modifying and screwing around with the audio. all the information at hand and needed is coming at you properly, through the tv, AS IS.

I tried listening to these mp3s over and over. I can make nothing out of them. Until they can make these mp3's audible I don't think anyone should take these transcripts seriously. Obviously there are SOME whispers that are audible and obvious. But these hidden/altered sounds, that are supossedly whispers, are too much too swallow.
the whispers are of people who lived on the island long ago - they are dead but their souls keep on living there.
i am friends with J.J. and he confirmed with me that most of the whisper transcripts listed on this site are true
he confirmed that the whispers are from the Dharma Remote Viewing Initiative. The location of the Remote Viewers is NOT on the island and this location will be revealed by the end of Season 3

I have never been able to make out any this. Like JJ said, you get from the whispers what you want. Imho these transcripts are useless.
well, then don't look at them. some people enjoy them.
Its possible there is a remote viewing station on the island....if so i reckon itd be "The Door". Either that or the whispers are those who died on island and still inhabit (like Naomi said to Miles "there are a number of dead people residing on this island") it or they are people in different times, like the time flashes, and the times are merging hence you hear the voices coming through
